The Black & Decker CCS818
The Black & Decker CCS818 is a lightweight, electric cordless chainsaw which is powered by a rechargeable 18V NiCad battery. It has an 8 inch bar and chain with an oiling system on board which keeps the chain lubricated and working correctly. The oil system has a window allowing you to check the oil level, simply fill the chamber with oil and then after each cut, press a button twice and the blade will be oiled.
This 18v cordless Black and Decker chainsaw has a wrap around handle with soft grips, this helps reduce vibration, gives better grip and allows multiple grip positions making straight and side cuts easy.
The cordless chainsaw gives up to 150 1.5 inch diameter cuts from a single charge, enabling you to get more done. This makes it a great saw for work such as cutting up fallen branches, tree pruning and general yard work.
With an electric chainsaw, you will be saved from breathing in the unpleasant fumes that are present when cutting with a gas chainsaw. There will also be no messy spills while refueling and frequent tune ups as with gas saw.
All in all the Black & Decker CCS818 offers a decently powered alternative to a gas chainsaw for smaller type jobs, it comes with guide bar scabbard for blade protection when not being used and and on board hex wrench.

A customer review of the Black & Decker CCS818
I was a bit leary about a buying a battery powered chain saw because I really didn’t think that it would have enough power. Now I have to say that I am THRILLED with the performance of the B&D CCS818. It advertises as having the capability of 5″ – 7″ cuts and that’s a pretty accurate statement. You have to be slightly patient with a 5″ cut (It takes about 15-20 seconds) compared to a serious gas powered chainsaw (Which takes 5 seconds). But that aside, the ease of use, lack of fuel mixtures and choking etc MORE than makes up for it.
For whatever reason, I have never had much luck getting gas powered chain saws to start and keep them running. As a result if this, I only use a gas saw when a hand saw is simply not practical. I’ve convinced myself (and others) that I like the health benefits of using a hand saw. With this little Black & Decker CCS818 though, I’ve started to offer my services to my friends and neighbors.
