I have worked professionally with gas chainsaws of different sizes for 2 years. The crew that I worked with used chain saws that are manufactured by Stihl and Husqvarna. I liked both types but, I preferred the Husqvarna Chainsaw, mainly because I found it to be more user friendly.
When I needed to get a new electric chain saw to replace a Remington to use around the yard I was very happy to learn that the Poulan Pro 400E chainsaw is a part of the Husqvarna Group.
Using the Poulan Pro 400E is quite like using a gas chain saw, although it has less power. But saying that, due to the fact of me not needing to use a chain saw on a regular basis, week in, week out and month after month, it just isn’t worth it to have a gas chainsaw due to the maintenance required by gas models. The electric Poulan Pro 400E chainsaw has plenty of power.
I find it very convenient having a saw that I can make cuts with and then put it down with it off. It goes off as soon as your finger is taken off the trigger switch. I have used it with 2 fat 50 feet long extension cords linked together with no noticeable loss of power.
Adjusting the chain tension is simple by using the adjusting screw on the Poulan Pro 400E and the included tool, this is a combination screwdriver used to turn the chain tension adjusting screw and a socket that loosens and tightens the bar clamp nuts.
